There are five themes to be addressed in Strand One: Thriving and Peaceful Communities
Anti-Poverty
This theme will focus on building capacity and resilience of low-income families facing poverty and disadvantage, alleviating the impacts of poverty and contributing to a more cohesive and prosperous society. We will focus on healthy eating, nutrition and wellbeing, holistic wraparound support and access to multi sports activity programmes.
Health and Wellbeing
This element of the Peace Plan will focus on addressing social isolation and exclusion and improving the mental and emotional wellbeing for marginalised and disadvantaged groups. Our aim is to tackle isolation and loneliness, support those with disabilities and build resilience for our local young people.
Female Entrepreneurship, Empowerment & Leadership
Our aim is to enhance the knowledge, experience and expertise of women so that they can take up leadership roles within the community, voluntary, social enterprise and private sectors, enabling them to contribute to a more cohesive and peaceful society.
Youth Entrepreneurship
This element of the plan will build the resilience and skills of young people, developing their knowledge and understanding of social enterprise, business sectors and supporting them to contribute to a prosperous and peaceful society.
Environment and Biodiversity
We want to contribute to local environmental improvements and community-led transformation across the District and knowledge transfer, improved relationships, increased volunteering opportunities, better capacity and tangible environmental improvements through a series of practical interventions.
