Mid Ulster Local Development Plan 2030
Mid Ulster District Council is responsible for the preparation of a Local Development Plan for the District.
The purpose of the Council's Local Development Plan, comprising the Plan Strategy and Local Policies Plan, is to inform the general public, statutory authorities, developers and other interested bodies of the policy framework and land use proposals that will implement the strategic objectives of the Regional Development Strategy and guide development decisions within Mid Ulster District Council up to 2030.
This Plan Strategy is the first stage of a two stage Local Development Plan for the District. The Local Development Plan will also consist of the Local Policies Plan (LPP), which is the second stage of the plan making process.
Mid Ulster District Council published its Local Development Plan 2030 – Draft Plan Strategy on 22nd February 2019. The Draft Plan Strategy was subject to an 8-week consultation period followed by a counter representation period. Due to a procedural error, the Council re-consulted on its Draft Plan Strategy which closed at 5pm on 24th September 2020.
The draft Plan Strategy has now been submitted to the Department for Infrastructure on 28th May 2021.
In accordance with Regulation 21 of the Planning (Local Development Plan) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015, the Public Notice announcing this submission is available to view on this website.

The Representations and Counter Representations
The consultation period for any counter representations to be made has now closed. In accordance with the requirements of Regulation 19 of The Planning (Local Development Plan) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015, all site specific policy representations made to the Local Development Plan 2030 - Draft Plan Strategy are available to view on our counter representations page.
