Council Seeks Views on Improvement Priorities
Mid Ulster District Council is inviting residents to have their say on its Corporate Improvement Objectives for the year ahead. As part of its commitment to delivering high-quality services, the Council has identified key areas for improvement and is seeking public feedback to help shape future priorities.
Chair of the Policy and Resources Committee, Councillor Malachy Quinn, is encouraging the public to take part in the consultation, saying:
“For 2025 to 2026, we have identified three key objectives that we believe will make a real difference to our district. First, we want to enhance the customer experience by embedding a culture that puts residents at the heart of how our services are accessed. Second, we aim to provide diverse and inclusive opportunities for children and young people to develop skills, stay active, and participate in their communities. Finally, we are committed to reducing Council’s carbon emissions through our sustainability strategy and climate action plan.
“We want to hear from residents about whether these priorities reflect what matters most to them.Your feedback is essential in helping us shape services that truly meet the needs of the community. The consultation is open until Friday 25 April at 12 noon, and I would encourage everyone to take part”.
For further details and to have your say, information including a short questionnaire is available online via the Council website's corporate improvement planning page, and hard copies can also be collected at and returned to local Council offices in Cookstown, Dungannon or Magherafelt, or by post to: Corporate Performance and Quality Officer, Mid Ulster District Council, Circular Road, Dungannon BT71 6DT.
You can also email your feedback to info@midulstercouncil.org using the subject heading: ‘Response to Council Performance Objective Consultation’. All responses must be received by 12 noon on Friday 25 April 2025.
Once the Council has considered the feedback received, it will draw up and publish a Performance Improvement Plan, setting out the Improvement Objectives, which will be monitored across the year. Council is committed to publishing a final report on its improvement performance by the autumn of 2025.
