Forest Schools are an exciting and inspirational experience for children encouraging them to:
Working in partnership with Northern Ireland Forest School Association (NIFSA), we're inviting schools and youth groups into our parks to take part in our Forest Schools Programme. In our Forest Schools, school children/youth groups are able to undertake innovative activities to help them understand the importance of the natural environment and local heritage.
Forest School Programmes
We currently run 2 Forest School programmes at Hill of The O’Neill Heritage Park and Dungannon Park.
Hill of The O'Neill Heritage Park
Teachers and school staff are able to undertake a Forest School Leader OCN Level 3 qualification. Schools taking part in this programme are led by Brian Poots, NIFSA, and will have 6 visits during the school year.

Dungannon Park
Schools and youth groups are invited to come along to the Forest School session tailored for each group’s requirements, up to a maximum of 4 sessions per school year. Sessions are led by fully qualified Parks staff.
