Investing in Mid Ulster: Building for a better future.
Mid Ulster District Council has received an investment of £1.2m through Sport NI’s National Lottery Funded Multi Facility Fund. Thanks to this funding, Mid Ulster Sports Arena (MUSA) will improve their facilities with an eight-lane athletics track, 3G synthetic pitch, floodlighting, fencing, and ancillary works.
This project will redevelop the woodland within Ballyronan as a quality off
road multi-use 1km trail.
Includes three projects:
-
The Coalisland Revitalisation project which will bring environmental improvements to the Lineside area of Coalisland, creating a pedestrian walkway.
-
The Active Travel Coalisland and Clonoe project which will upgrade and create new walkways linking town centres with various housing developments.
-
Coalisland Shared Spaces project will provide a communal space with amphitheatre seating, benches and planters at the start of the Canal.
This project will focus on a new all-ability play area, covered outdoor seating area and the creation of a parking area with space for approximately 30 vehicles.
This project includes an extension and refurbishment of Magherafelt Recycling Centre, transforming the facilities for local people and improving health and safety at the site.
This project will include the development of the old courtyard area in Pomeroy Forest to include an imaginative feature space, rejuvenation of the old building aesthetically, creation of an outdoor activity/event space and communal area with picnic facilities. The works will also see the adjacent car park area upgraded.
Updates on progress on projects will be shared via our news section and Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
