Everything the Council does is at the heart of the community. By participating in our volunteer programme, you will have the potential to make a significant positive contribution to your community while gaining experience for inclusion on your CV, learning new or enhancing current skillsets.
Volunteers reflect the interests, needs and resources of the communities we serve. Volunteers bring a unique perspective; they are part of our team, with a distinctive but complementary role alongside paid staff.
What does it involve?
Volunteering opportunities will be made available across a variety of Council services and will provide support to our teams on the ground. For example, you may help our property services teams with Grounds inspections, or work with our parks teams to help maintain our bike trails or be part of the environmental services teams responsible for litter picking across the district. During certain times of the year, there’ll also be the opportunity to volunteer for events and festival support roles.
