Dungannon Leisure Centre Unveils New Virtual Programme

The latest transformation in leisure services offered by Mid Ulster District Council has been launched at Dungannon Leisure Centre, where a new state of the art virtual fitness experience is now available for users.

The investment is part of a seven-year capital programme delivered by the Council in its leisure facilities throughout the district, an investment which puts into practice the Council’s commitment to promoting healthier lifestyles and improving access to high quality fitness solutions. This service provision will align Dungannon Leisure Centre with Cookstown and Greenvale Leisure Centres studio provision.

The new machines installed at the Centre allow users to choose from a virtual programme that will provide a diverse range of workouts, including Spinning, Kettlebell, Zumba, HIIT, Mind & Body, and Yoga, ensuring there is something for everyone, regardless of fitness level or preference. A key benefit of this innovative programme is the added flexibility it offers leisure centre users by offering classes led by a virtual instructor at the touch of a button.

Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Eugene McConnell, welcomed the introduction of the new equipment and programme saying:

"This investment demonstrates the Council’s dedication to enhancing community well-being through technology-driven fitness solutions. By introducing a new virtually based programme, we are providing our residents with the opportunity to engage in high-quality workouts at times that suit them best.

As part of its ongoing mission to improve the quality of life for residents, the Council continues to support initiatives that embrace innovation and enhance accessibility. Through strategic investments in cutting-edge fitness technology, the Council is ensuring that everyone has the resources they need to stay active and healthy.”
