Get to Taste Mid Ulster during Restaurant Week
Next month (March) sees the first ever Taste Mid Ulster Restaurant Week. Scheduled from Monday 10 to Sunday 16 March 2025, this event is set to elevate Mid Ulster’s culinary landscape, offering a platform for restaurants to showcase innovative experiences.
Led by Mid Ulster District Council and supported by Tourism Northern Ireland, Taste Mid Ulster Restaurant Week will highlight and promote the best of the district’s restaurants and cafes, showcase the exceptional talents of local chefs and promote the region’s home-grown produce.
Restaurants are invited to host a variety of events, including specially curated tasting menus, food pairings, cooking demonstrations, and masterclasses, creating unique dining experiences for attendees. Also listen out to Cool FM for daily competitions w/c/ 24 Feb 2025
The event which encourages all local venues and establishments to take part aims to support the local hospitality sector. Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Eugene McConnell believes this first event could lead to a regular celebration of Mid Ulster’s cuisine every year:
“Mid Ulster is full of exceptional talent in chefs and cooks, such as Lauren Shimmin (contender on MasterChef) and Ciaran Devlin (Channel Four’s Four in a Bed), and lots of innovative food and drink manufacturers. Mid Ulster Restaurant Week is a celebration that is all about exploring and discovering our district’s rich culinary scene. Our hospitality industry has shown incredible resilience over the past few years and the local food scene in Mid Ulster is going from strength to strength. We look forward to collaborating with hospitality businesses to ensure this event is a success.”
