Mid Ulster LMP Multiply Workshops continue in November

Mid Ulster LMP’s Financial Money Matters Roadshows continue in November with the theme of ‘Wills and Power of Attorney’. A new series of Fitness and Nutrition Workshops also start this November, running through into March 2025. The workshops will empower residents across the district by boosting essential skills and supporting healthy lifestyles in fun, interactive ways.

The workshops are delivered as part of the Multiply programme, funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The UK Shared Prosperity Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.

Speaking about the ‘Multiply’ programme and the opportunity it holds for residents, Chair of the Council, Councillor Eugene McConnell said,

“The ‘Multiply’ programme has the power to change lives and really make a difference for our local community. By improving numeracy skills, we're not just enhancing individual opportunities, but we're also building a stronger, more resilient workforce. I encourage everyone to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity. Together, we can ‘multiply’ our success.”

The Roadshow theme for November is Wills and Power of Attorney. Making a will or assigning Power of Attorney can be a daunting experience, but the absence of either can massively impact loved ones. The Mid Ulster LMP has partnered with three local law firms who can advise and ease the process. They take place on:

  • Wednesday 6 November, Seamus Heaney Homeplace, Bellaghy, attended by Mallon & Co Solicitors

  • Wednesday 13 November, The Loft at the Linen Green, Dungannon, attended by Bradley & McKay Solicitors

  • Thursday 21 November, Superstars Café, Cookstown, attended by Doris & MacMahon Solicitors

Each workshop runs from 6.30pm – 8pm and a light supper will be provided.

November also has a focus on fitness and nutrition. A four – week programme will begin in Cookstown Leisure Centre on 13 November from 10.30am -12.30pm. This will be replicated at various locations throughout the district. Participants will enjoy exercise, healthy snack & nutritional information, helping to promote balanced lifestyles and better health outcomes.

All participants who complete the four-week programme can choose between a 3-month leisure centre membership or £75 Mid Ulster Gift Card. The workshops at Cookstown Leisure Centre will run until 4 December.
