Professor Turi King uses genetics in the fields of forensics, history, genealogy, and archaeology, and is known for ‘cracking one of the biggest forensic DNA cases in history’ – the identification of the remains of King Richard III.
Named as one of the world’s ‘rockstar genealogists’, her work since has covered not only family history but the use of genetic genealogy in forensics and historical cases. She has recently published on the Kaspar Hauser conspiracy theory case and presented the hugely popular Head Number 7 podcast about the Harvard Morgue scandal. She has been conducting genetic genealogical research for over 25 years and is the co-presenter of the hit BBC TV show DNA Family Secrets with Stacey Dooley where she was involved in solving cases in Northern Ireland. She recently hosted the Sky History television series, Unearthed, featuring the bog body Tollund Man.
Turi will talk about her high-profile work and will take audience questions.
